The E-SMART Moments: Product and Program Team

E-SMART Moments principal team members come from the fields of business, entertainment, media, education, psychology and technology. They have combined their varied skills and talents toward the goal of providing  product and program success solutions for business, entertainment, and education.

Robert Reiher, PhD

     Dr. Robert Reiher is founder and President of E-SMART Choice, a company which offers enriching product and program development consulting services.  Through 25 years of experience, Dr. Reiher has integrated developmental psychology, neuroscience, learning theory and media psychology  into E-SMART'S proprietary methods and product success solutions. 
     Robert brings a broad combination of training and experience from the fields of experimental, educational, media and clinical psychology, business, education, and entertainment. He has been actively involved as a researcher, instructor, musician, and media consultant. 
     Dr. Reiher received his B.A. in education and psychology and completed his Masters Degree in experimental psychology. Doctoral work was completed at the University of Southern California in educational psychology with a specialization in human development, social psychology, and personality theory. Robert has conducted research in attribution theory and cognitive psychology and is published in several journals including the Journal of Psychology. 
     Robert has recently released the book KIDNAPPED: How Irresponsible Marketers are Stealing The Minds Of Your Children with Dr. Daniel Acuff.  He is currently completing two new books, Parental Guidance Required and The New Enrichment Economy. 

Richard Callaci   

      Richard Callaci is musical strategist and staff composer for E-Smart Choice. His comprehensive musical background coupled with his unique talent and skills integrate the art of music with the science of psychology.  Richard plays a critical role with the E-Smart team by directing proprietary product and program musical strategies designed to enrich the listener’s emotions, creativity, and consciousness.
      Richard received his Bachelor of Music degree from North Texas State University and through his years of experience developed an eclectic understanding of a wide variety of musical forms. He has composed original music for clients such as Radio Aahs, Starlight Foundation, Mariott Corporation, Entertainment Partners, Irwin Productions, Showtime Movies and PM Entertainment Video.  As both composer and arranger, he has extensive experience with Saban Entertainment, Playhut Animation, NBC Awards, ABC Children’s TV, the Miss Texas Pageant and the Miss Ohio Pageant.  Richard was the winner of the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Contest in 1998 in the World Music category. 
      He has also participated as a performer and musical director for such notable artists as Melissa Manchester, Julio Iglesias, Frankie Laine, Gary Puckett, Marlon Brando, Frankie Valli, Gloria Loring, and in popular venues ranging from Disneyland to the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. 

Jack Brooks 

     Jack Brooks, in his role as Technical Strategist, brings an eclectic background to the E-SMART CHOICE team centered around his passion for the science and technology of Internet Communications, as well as the more humanistic areas of psychology and written/verbal communication. His previous work as a performing/writing musician, as well as in the diverse fields of computer consulting, electronics, feature writing, and teaching/counseling  form the common threads that weave throughout the fabric of his commitment to the melding of art and science in developing E-Smart Technical Strategies for individual and organizational enrichment.
     Jack brings this passion to E-SMART CHOICE and E-SMART MOMENTS technical project support, written publications and website development, information products/programs, and media.

Janene Whitney

         Janene Whitney is an award-winning educator in the fields of Multiple Intelligences, literacy, and the arts. She

     spent 15   years working in the entertainment industry for companies that include Columbia Pictures, ABC, and the

     Disney Channel. Her education includes undergraduate work in English at the Claremont Colleges, and post-graduate

     work in education at the University of LaVerne.

 Alan Riva (Captain Al)

     Alan Riva has been performing as a guitarist/vocalist and teaching guitar for over thirty years.  He has served as  President of the Los Angeles Valley College Guitar Quartet.  He has taught guitar classes to young teens with social and emotional Issues with breakthrough results with his class cumulating in a performances of classical guitar quartet music to rave reviews. Alan has written music for children’s CD’s and DVD’s that are currently on the market and being used throughout the country by various school systems  As a children's educator and entertainer, Captain Al has been providing musical enrichment programs for children for more than a decade.  His interactive approach utilizes the principles of multiple intelligence, integrating music, interpersonal communication, visual intelligence, storytelling, and values education.  Captain Al's songs take children on musical adventures that enrich, entertain and educate.  His unique and original style  keeps them captivated, involved and actively engaged in the learning process. Working at both private and public schools, Captain Al and his music has received rave reviews from parents and teachers alike.  He is a seasoned live performer and has created live thematic musicals using puppets, props and choreography.
